Breaking up with Cymbalta, that is.
When my doctor and I were talking about switching antidepressants she asked how things were going in my life right now because, as she said, "I might experience a little dip when I came off the Cymbalta." She wasn't kidding. This medicine has some wicked withdrawal effects - nausea, dizziness, aches, swelling, diarrhea, nightmares. In other words, lots and lots of fun.
I took Friday and Saturday off of work, which I'm sure made my boss really happy. Fortunately I was scheduled to have Sunday and Monday off so I get a four-day weekend to try to get over this transition. Unfortunately I've only cut my dose in half so far so I have another step down to go.
Oh the joys of medication.
